I Thought I Might Be Dying by Shamanator published on 2012-08-18T06:02:33Z Entire soundtrack for "I thought I might be dying -- a collaborative installation on Fertility and Flux" (1993). The music looped while people explored the huge uterine space (tapestry, sculpting, painting, poetry, photography). This composition features sounds I sampled and played, including chimes, racquetball court, traffic, scraped pot lid, interviewees, ex-wife :) , didgeridoo, hammered dulcimer, Kurzweil K2000RS, bowed psaltry, and others. I mixed the music on a 4-track cassette recorder (the days before computer compositional and mixing aids!). The 49.5 minute track loosely follows the physical, emotional, and spiritual changes during the 28-day menstrual cycle, including buildup of endometrium, cramps, PMS, blood flow, and peace.
