Jack Reid Shannon Reid Melbourne Guitarist Jack Reid enjoys bringing diverse areas of knowledge together to create music that is both novel and arresting to the ear of the listener. Originally from Melbourne, he has studied guitar and voice in contemporary, jazz and musical theatre settings with the Melbourne Guitar Lab, William Bates Academy, The Soundlab Melbourne, London College of Contemporary Music, Berklee School of Music and the Western Academy of Performing arts. His musical development has been guided with extended assistance from a variety of talented performers including Lucas Michailidis, Merlin Rhys-Jones, Fran Swinn, Scotty Johnson and Hayley Teal. He is particularly influenced by the music of Steve Vai and was in the first group of alumni of the Steve Vai techniques course conducted through the Berklee School of Music. Jack’s interests lie in collaborating with performers and bands in live work and recording projects to develop new sounds and approaches. He places high value in developing and maintaining a positive and successful culture within any group in which he becomes involved.
