ShapeDaze Matteo Tomasetti Montréal ShapeDaze is the experimental music alias of Matteo Tomasetti, a sound artist and computer music composer who focuses on creating immersive musical experiences and live performances. ShapeDaze's work delves into shaping soundscapes and researching dynamic connections among space, audiovisual perception, and musical gestures through the extensive live use of different gestural-based sound controls during his live performances. Currently, ShapeDaze is a visiting researcher at the IDMIL Laboratory of McGill University (Montréal), where he develops works between the research fields of New Interfaces for Musical Expression (NIME) and immersive audio. He is collaborating with visual artist Consuelo Donati, with whom he created an audiovisual performance of ~30 minutes entitled "The Intervowen", which they are presenting in different venues and festivals. ShapeDaze is constantly struggling with creating experimental music, in which he always tries to create a diverse mix of the genres that have influenced him the most, such as ambient, IDM, glitch, and beat-rave music. He is completely obsessed with spatialized audio and gesture-based interfaces for sound control in his live performances. He also co-founded the Italian artists collective "BitNet01", which organizes several electronic music and digital art festivals around Italy and Europe.
