So-Far-I

Multifaceted EMCEE So-Far-I was born in Santa Cruz, California, in 1989, and raised in Eugene, Oregon. He came up rocking college parties as the youngest memeber of the live Hip Hop band 4 Trees. Mixing socially conscious lyrics with a unique cadence, he made a name for himself in the Eugene, OR music scene at 16.
Affiliated with hip-hop crew Classic Brix, So-Far-I released his first solo project, 1 Gift 1 Life 1 Love & 2 Fists, at 17, under the name Lil Army. Returning to So-Far-I in 2010, he released the EP Conflicts in Nature and an ambitious 22-track mixtape. The mixtape, entitled Evolution in Progress, showcased So-Far-I’s roots in Hip Hop culture, with remixes to producers RZA, The Coup, Hi Tek, Dead Prez. The year after, So-Far-I began to generate buzz with Weapons of Mass Progression, a group comprised of two MC’s, and a singer. After releasing the EP The Journey in 2012, So-Far-I hit the road, performing in Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Minneapolis, following his love for music and travel.
In 2013, his track Walls Fall Up was featured on mixtape Digital Dynasty 25, alongside Raekwon, Method Man, J Cole and Pusha T. The following year So-Far-I was featured in a collaboration with Aruba group Central Pieces on international mixtape The Revolution of Hip Hop. In 2014 his track Win The Crown became the theme song for the nationwide competitive wrestling tournament Grapplers Quest. Meanwhile, as an artist in residence at label United Roots in Oakland, CA, his collaboration with several bay artists was featured in the 2017 documentary ‘My People Are Rising’.
In 2018, So-Far-I put outa personal album under the name of Armen J called For What It’s Worth showing his growth on full display. Flexing his evolution as an original artist, while staying true to his roots, his latest album For What It’s Worth, offers a luscious blend of Jazz, Hip Hop and lyrical pleasure.
