Gazing out the window, an ambient mixtape 3/1/19 by Somatique published on 2019-02-19T01:23:36Z It’s 6 am. You lean on my shoulder on a deserted dance floor as I stare into the void of a paper cup, wondering when the sun will come up. It’s 8 am. The space is awash with pale grey, and the show's finale is long overdue. We sneak out into the back alleys of Sunset Park, gently leaving footprints on the first snow of the year. A trucker asks if I'm traveling to the future, poking fun at my rather fashionable outfit. It's 9 am. I walk up to my room with a bottle of gin, alone, muttering to myself how I hated life before I met you. I’m in an age of wilderness, flicking ash out the window. I hear faint footsteps on the edge of my daydream, and feel you lean in for a kiss with your eyes closed, blissed out. You always look gorgeous with your hair tied in a bun. As the sun rises on our era of paradise....I start to fantasize. My youth has been an aimless waltz into a wasteland and days alone were death practice.....and I ache for no more changes. Only birdsongs, and your smile shining like a million suns. A dense cocktail of melancholy and memory brings a flood of emotions to the forefront of my mind, as I watch you gaze out the window...
