Deck of Music No.9 by Sonic Kitchen published on 2022-12-02T12:18:45Z "I thought I was in an Interface one time. It turns out that something was just ENTERING my face. That something was a Zebra Cake. I bet you thought I'd say something euphemistic, or perhaps even outright declare something lewd in no uncertain terms, but I'm not your ordinary amorphous hot pink spaghetti clown. I have standards." This piece was actually not made with umami (animator), Interface (animated film), or Mischief in mind, but after getting THAT sound on the lead synth, I figured I'd put Mischief as the cover image. Then, I used MVSep to isolate his laughter from the "Watchful Eyes" segment and made that part of the ambient fuckery that comes later in the 2nd and 3rd movements. The timestretching gets very extreme by the end of the song so perhaps this is how it sounded to be spaghettified. I like how it gets so artifact-y that it starts to sound like static, as if the cerebral energy is taking over. This artifacting is the work of the "elastique 2.2.8 Pro" pitch/timestretching algorithm within REAPER. * * * A bichromatic piece with two interwoven hands drawn from the Deck: (I) D#7 / x x x - / IN A CAVE A# / x - - x / GERMANIUM Cm / - x x - / PUMPKIN G / - - - - / JETSAM G# / - - - - / FAMINE E7 / x x x - / LAPIS F / - - x x / GABBRO C7 / - x x x / PARROT (II) A#+ / - x x - / DESERT G+ / - x x x / STORM A# / x - - x / PUMPKIN A7 / - - - x / APRICOT G- / - - x - / CRIMSON F- / - x - x / RUST D / - x x x / UNDERSEA A7 / - - x x / CRUNCH Genre Experimental
