Howling Wire Brighton by Sound Intervention published on 2013-05-09T22:12:03Z A low-res live recording of the premiere of Howling Wire, Dan Fox's giant wind-harp. Part of Audible Forces, a group show by seven UK sound artists produced by Oxford Contemporary Music and commissioned by Brighton Festival and Without Walls. On this recording you can hear a high sci-fi-choir-like sound. This is produced by two 12 meter high nylon strung harps resonated by copper timpani drums. The bass tone is vibrating pallet strap amplified by galvanised ducting bass drums. All the sound is created by the wind blowing across the strings. The crunching sounds are people walking on the pebble beach in Hove. More details and tour dates for 2013 at www.danfox.net Genre sound sculpture Comment by leeriley This sounds great.
