Nocturne 10. - "21/12, 2012 the lightbringer". Dedic. to Stephan Beneking. by Stein_Thor published on 2012-12-21T20:15:02Z Stephan asked me to write a nocturne for the day of no light here in Iceland, 21. december and here it is dedicated to him :) And today was dark, no sun at all here in SV Iceland. However this is in a way a happy day, tomorrow the day will start getting longer and every year it´s like that. The music starts in F# major/minor, the key with so many black (night) notes and it ends in C major, the white/daylight key. Symbolic. I thought of the motiv today while I was playing in a service for a lady that died way to soon, and the idea is to start dark and give way to the light as the improv progresses. I think some moments came out ok, and the world did not end which is good. Genre Piano Comment by anne It's great ! 2019-03-08T04:47:30Z Comment by opus.quatre From darkness To full light, that's a very good concept for a tune.. could be just a concept, but the music that came out of this, is very good indeed.. 2018-11-14T15:18:07Z Comment by Milana Zilnik oh, such an elegant turn in the melody...wow!! 2013-02-20T20:25:55Z Comment by Milana Zilnik love these free moves...amazing!! 2013-02-20T20:24:43Z Comment by Milana Zilnik luckily I have FB to remind me of you, mister...almost missed this beauty!!! Thank you so much for creating such wonderful, exceptional music, and thank you also for the dedication to me, first piece ever dedicated to me :-) I think music of this nocturnal beauty can only be written in the far north, where the 21st of december is "the lightbringer", and the people wait for that day and celebrate it. Great symbolic construction of your piece as well from black keys to white keys. Amazing work, bravo! 2013-01-01T19:16:08Z Comment by Stein_Thor @stephanfischer-1: :) 2012-12-23T19:06:32Z Comment by Stein_Thor @stephanfischer-1: thank you Stephan 2012-12-23T19:00:34Z Comment by Marta Chovalko ........hmmmmmm....... 22 / 12 .... :o))))))))))))) 2012-12-22T13:16:13Z Comment by Piero Pizzul Thank you and Merry X-Mas!!! 2012-12-22T11:59:04Z Comment by chicago_word_brigade an exceptionally well-conceived & performed piece...kudos! 2012-12-22T03:55:30Z Comment by DJ Relish Wonderful, I do not know what else to say about your music, it always puts me in a good mood! 2012-12-22T01:35:30Z Comment by Science Teheran WOW 2012-12-21T22:44:35Z Comment by Science Teheran What a fantastic piece and beautiful dedication to another great musician.
