HOW IT STARTED:
25 years ago my passion for house music started. Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo hit the musiclists with their Wonderfull Days. Critical Mass with Burning Love triggered me also. I liked the melody combined with basskick. Of course DJ Paul's Nightmare was also one of my favorites that time with a pumped up tempo. However, like most parents, mine also disliked the digital sounds from my atticroom. But it would 't bother to follow the path of house music and feel the passion and connection we share with eachother in this scene. I searched for more underground beats, bass and sounds... and so my love for house music was born.
My todays favourite dj/producers's with real skills and unique track selections are: Vince, JDA, Lady Dana, Waxweazle, Tommyknocker, Sceletor, Dutchman Jack and last but not least of course Promo.
A grab in my historie of PARTIES and PLACES:
The Goldfinger in Rosmalen became my weekly go out and Club X in Belgium once in a month. My first big event was Shadowlands Rave in Brabanthallen my hometown Den Bosch in 1997, quickly followed by several Mysterylands Indoor and Outdoor editions. Mysteryland 1998 @ Lingebos was a true wonderland experience. My dream to become a DJ was born. More than 100 houseparties followed :-). I went almost to all Masters of Hardcore's from '98 in Hemkade Zaandam to Beursgebouw Eindhoven and last years in my hometown Den Bosch @ Brabanthallen. Raving Nightmares in Platte Zoal in Maastricht with no sounds limits were master, several HouseQlassics and Thunderdome. I have seen so many parties and places, met many great people and nowadays I still do and enjoying the music, vibe and connection to the MAX! regardless I am over 40 years old now, hahah. The older, the crazier :-P
LESSONS of LIFE:
My parents (still love them) believed house was just a hype and I grew up with thinking in boundaries instead of listening to my innerself motivation to follow and make dreams come true. I started working in the financial industry when I was 18y. Climbing up by working hard and believing society consists of people with all the same standards and values. Unfortunately, it doesn't. After 25 years career as an financial expert the corona period isolated me from my social environment: only working at home alone, evening bells, lies from government, news with full of drama and shit, I lost myself in work (12h each day) and broke down. "Is this how life should be?" I reflected to myself. My inner journey started by recovering physically and mentally. An inner journey with a new mind started: breaking boundaries, believing in myself and focus on the right people with positive vibes. I will choose to do where I stand for, not what the society expects. I am picking up my dream again, following my path and just take how it comes and see how it goes.
MY ADVICE:
Listen to your heart, follow your dreams and be good. We are a different generation, you make the difference by being your unique self. Peace out with Respect, Honour and Love.
Life is too short, make it funky \o/
