Jah Woosh - Woodpecker Sound (Gré Maillard Edit) by Szeretet Records published on 2022-07-11T21:30:03Z Hi beloved folks, Gré Maillard speaking. As you know perhaps I've always been a big fan of Swound Sound, an Austrian radio DJ mix show hosted by Viennese living legends Makossa and Sugar B which turned 30 years in January 2022. Today's styles of this very entertaining transmission are much more electronic (Downtempo, House, Afro House and so on) than in the first years (1992 to 1995) when many old funky tunes were spinned by music mastermind Makossa, and also many reggae and dub songs. One very funny example which was definitely played (I've got a memory like an elephant, *lol*) in one of the countless Swound Sound shows was "Woodpecker Sound" by famous Jamaican reggae singer and musician Jah Woosh, which contains very funny cackling vocals when Jah Woosh sings on the nature of the woodpecker bird (and I'm almost sure that a woodpecker definitely doesn't sound like this). A few days ago I had the big honour to play the warm-up DJ set of the 30 years of Swound Sound celebration and it was clear for me to play the Woodpecker Sound but I didn't wanted to play the original song because I only wanted the funny cackling and didn't wanted the religious rastafarian parts of Jah Woosh's lyrics. So I remixed it in contemporary Downtempo style, and voilà, it fitted perfectly to all other Downtempo edit of the well-known oldschool songs. And now it's here for you to listenen to it and to download it for free. Hope you enjoy! Big love!!! <3 <3 <3 Genre Downtempo
