Max Blumenthal's weird descent into COVID skepticism by Taylor Report published on 2022-01-21T16:52:44Z Phil interviews Tony Leah, Unifor Local 222 Political Action Committee Chairperson, about Max Blumenthal’s increasingly weird descent into COVID skepticism. Leah points out that Blumenthal claimed that the current pandemic is “not really a left-right issue”. Blumenthal mischaracterizes the opposition to vaccine mandates as “the medical freedom movement worldwide … one of the largest, most international and diverse movements – social movement and protest movement – of our time.” Blumenthal has been promoting the “Great Barrington Declaration” and had two of its authors on his podcast. Despite his reputation for detailed investigative journalism, Max failed to mention during the 90 minute show that the Great Barrington Declaration was orchestrated and hosted by a right-wing libertarian think tank, the American Institute for Economic Research (AIER). The AIER promotes climate denialism (“Brazilians Should Keep Slashing Their Rainforest”) and attacks Black Lives Matter as “Zombie Marxism”. Little wonder that one of Blumenthal’s guests claims that vaccine mandates are a “new form of Jim Crow” with not a word of dissent from Max. Genre News & Politics Comment by Trisha Y. Roberts I've been wondering if MB has been receiving dark money because his dedication to these science-less covid narratives is ongoing. Same with Jimmy Dore. Max presented amazing lack of journalist skills on Rokfin for months. Charles Koch funding? 2023-04-08T16:33:01Z
