8 Bits of Tokyo (One Synth Challenge: VK-1 Viking) by The Ted Mountainé Orchestra published on 2018-01-09T13:37:56Z A little novelty that I'm submitting for KVR's "One Synth Challenge" for January 2018. Never done that before! All the sounds on this track, "drums" included, was made with a 33 instances of a monophonic VST emulation from Blamsoft called VK-1 Viking. Genre Electronic Comment by eraze the borders I love the sounds and melodies, great mix too. Don't mind the cheese at all ;) 2018-02-15T14:40:50Z Comment by zarf love this last section! 2018-02-12T21:57:23Z Comment by zarf Nice mix, good sounds, some really good moments musically combined with some a little too over-done for me. But solid work :) 2018-02-12T21:36:00Z Comment by foxAsteria's Twilight Mystery School Strong melodies and mix but the beat is way too generic for my tastes. Intro and bridge were the best for me. Bridge because of the chord changes, and also the only place I like that darn hat. Good job though. 2018-02-12T02:00:48Z Comment by foxAsteria's Twilight Mystery School This part is strongest (or at least most enjoyable for me). Really would have liked more of that and less of the, imo goofy dance parts (esp where the offbeet hat kicks in). 2018-02-12T01:59:22Z Comment by foxAsteria's Twilight Mystery School I can tell you understand music and sound. 2018-02-12T01:57:23Z Comment by foxAsteria's Twilight Mystery School It's fun and well mixed, but it's kinda cheesy. I guess I have to forgive that since cheese is kinda tied with 8-bit aesthetic. "Not really my cup of tea," as they say. 2018-02-12T01:56:42Z Comment by b really does feel like a game made by konami where i am fighting in some post-apocalyptic night 2018-02-11T03:47:18Z Comment by Taronium When ever something has me sitting here with a wide smile on my face, it's a winner in my book! Great stuff! 2018-02-08T22:27:07Z Comment by Taronium Funniest thing to me is that this does not sound 8bit at all, no matter how much it carries the soul of it, it sounds sooooooo much better! ;o))) 2018-02-08T22:26:11Z Comment by Taronium Yeah, those 80's vibrato chords, hahaha! Freaking fun! 8D 2018-02-08T22:25:24Z Comment by The Never Scene Definitely some classic game console material here. Really well done. 2018-02-05T06:48:44Z Comment by The Never Scene You're mixing is great. The song has personality but sounds rather pro. Very well done! 2018-02-02T19:31:50Z Comment by mostlyjustJ Wow... Full embracing of a theme - great intro! 2018-02-02T19:22:53Z Comment by DoctorBob Percussion shows up well here - nice variation on the chord sequence! 2018-02-02T16:31:43Z Comment by DoctorBob I like those piano-esque chords in the backgroud. 2018-02-02T16:31:07Z Comment by DoctorBob Yeah - go for it!! 2018-02-02T16:30:32Z Comment by DoctorBob Nice intro leading into that nice little riff. 2018-02-02T16:29:38Z Comment by Baali Soda Very well done!
