HORIZON - Mountains in the Sky by The Cyanist published on 2022-08-18T12:25:03Z A Skyrim Soundtrack Expansion Project. Taking both elements from Oblivion and Skyrim and trying to combine them into something that fits neatly into Skyrim's already existent soundscape and OST. I always wanted to do this, and now I believe I have the tools necessary to pull it off - I hope... This little introductory piece took me (calculating in the time I needed to find good enough melodies in my head without copying everything the existing soundtracks already do, arranging things so they work as intended, building up a new orchestral template I can work off of to create more cohesive pieces within this project, getting all the libraries I required etc.) half a year. Not constant work of course, for this iteration I took about 2 months - but there are so many prototypes waiting to be salvaged into something worthwhile that did not become *this*... It took a lot of thinking and frustration. And I am still not "perfectly" happy with the result. The mix but most importantly the arrangement and some harmonic structures are very lacking in some places, it isn't as thematically consistent as I wanted it and I feel like I still need a lot of practice with my new libraries to get the best out of them. But aside from that, I am still very proud of it. I again learned more from this piece and everything it took to get it done than I have in a long time. So I'd mark it down as a definite success, especially since it opens up the doors to an entire new project that I can sink my teeth into - especially especially because it is about Skyrim. And there are few things that I am as passionate about and emotionally connected to as I am with the fifth entry in the Elder Scrolls Series. I will vastly improve in the fields of composition, arrangement and thematic consistency on the upcoming tracks, because now I actually have a structure I can build upon instead of no ideas and an empty DAW. So expect better things to come and forgive me my shortcomings on this first entry in a hopefully long line of pieces to this puzzle. Please enjoy and give me all the feedback you want, I need every bit of it to improve. But for now - a hearty Cheerio, Cedric Genre Soundtrack Comment by harahayuku I've come across a gold mine... how are you not famous man...its almost unfair.....truly i have no words.... the last bit made me tear up man..goddamn 2022-12-06T14:54:34Z Comment by MP Project 1967 Nic 2022-11-10T21:08:47Z Comment by Klangmeer perfect 2022-11-05T22:15:41Z Comment by Odin Young movies need you 2022-10-09T02:26:15Z Comment by FedrasMusic Great and powerful; a soundtrack composition 2022-09-30T01:27:18Z Comment by Stefano Colleoni very emotional track, awesome work! 2022-09-29T14:28:05Z Comment by sewerpriest This track really does feel like it belongs in a TES game, holy crap 2022-09-27T09:49:40Z Comment by Axl Rhodes 🎧 great atmosphere. i reall love it! 2022-09-22T17:38:09Z Comment by Dino Olivieri / Onyrix Love the development of the images given by the sound. There is one thing I long for when listening to music and that is for the music to evoke emotion. You do this better than most, getting goosebumps when listening to your work is becoming the norm now and for me, that is mission accomplished. Again such a beautiful piece of music. The instruments you’ve used all fit so perfectly and the structure is sublime. Many will study your work in years to come, hoping to become the next you. You are the benchmark I strive to reach. This for sure goes in my top 10 playlist next to two other of your tracks. 2022-09-15T08:42:18Z Comment by Thomas.magain this makes me feel so relaxed let suspenseful its a very nice piece of music :) [via https://sc.repostexchange.com] 2022-09-14T13:27:42Z Comment by Obstinator wonderful strings. lovley swells !!!!! yay ! 2022-09-13T19:33:47Z Comment by Serole Very moving and deep. You have managed to make something familiar and yet, new. Absolutely adore the choir, it screams skyrim! How you can be anything but satisfied with this is beyond me. For me, this is absolutely fantastic. That final part is perfection, everything is put so well together! This is what I want to see at an end credit scene in the cinemas, I'd stay just for the music haha 2022-08-28T12:12:55Z Comment by The Cyanist @austinpettit: Thank you very much :) 2022-08-27T23:23:45Z Comment by Klangmeer Excellent work, very absorbing, very emotional for my ears.
