I used to teach river safety and rescue as well as being a professional ski patrol, backcountry guide and river guide. I always emphasized to a group that everyone has a voice and before we started on something I would check in to see if anyone was seeing something I might be missing. I found this to be an important step as an individual ego can miss things. As far as intuition I recommend the book "Thinking, Fast and Slow" by Daniel Kahneman. He really gets into the psychology of what we call intuition. Very enlightening. 2022-03-09T21:57:30Z Comment by Susan Sheffield Oh my thank you for sharing!! I will have to read your book. I was there at a different lodge across the highway when this happened. It's so great to hear a man talk about this intuition and power levels in guiding. I always thought I felt this way because I am a woman, and under respected in the ski industry. It's so interesting to hear Ken talk about these same issues. Thank you!! 2022-03-03T04:10:34Z
