Call On Me (The Frim ASR-X Pro cover) by The Frim published on 2015-08-26T01:21:10Z mostly based off of hearing this rare clip today DJ Falcon playing an early version in 2002. apparently it was originally a Together track but they didn't want to release it, so Eric Prydz did a version https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgxNGi_7R5Y Anyway, this is my first full hardware track in so long, so wanted to share, even though it was just a quick project done in one afternoon. got into a 90's french house kick the past few days, as I occasionally do, so I made this. sample taken obviously from Steve Winwood - Valerie, I did the 909 parts in Drumazon, and took 2 house cymbal loops from Vengeance Essential House 1. Then I plugged the audio interface output into the ASR X pro, and recorded those loops one by one into it, plus sequenced some of the internal drums. Due to the sluggish crappy CPU, the only super major fault in this otherwise perfect sampling machine, I had to sequence the midi in the ableton project and run it thru a USB midi output. as you can hear, even when doing that it's sluggish enough with this many channels, it's unlistenable with the internal sequencer. Just a fair warning if you want to buy an ASR-X. Don't get me wrong, the interface is AMAZING and so intuitive... just make sure you have other machines with it so it only has to handle a few midi notes in at once. its rock solid then. unfortunately as I dont have an authentic 3630, I had to cheat again with the ableton compressor and limiter. but someday i want the real thing for some authentic french house pump Genre 90s as futz Comment by oreeooo nice 2018-05-11T02:07:55Z Comment by Riddim Ranger this is so cool 2017-05-11T00:22:40Z Comment by Bio Bane lol 2015-10-31T00:48:02Z Comment by Bio Bane Call me 2015-10-30T20:57:20Z Comment by L͆̇̄ī̄L ;͒̇̊̉͛ B͌̌̀͑̚ũ͊̑̉̌Mͣͥ̐̉ͥ̓M̐̂̽̈́͊eͭ̄ͧR͂͑ͪ This was fucking incredible and unexpected, gj Frim 2015-09-18T16:34:25Z Comment by BIG BOY BEDOLLA MOVERS & SHAKERS?? 2015-08-31T17:38:45Z Comment by Sarah Jenae i freAkin love you hahah yessssss 2015-08-27T17:35:17Z Comment by UBUR Wish download was enabled ;; 2015-08-26T23:07:23Z Comment by Zetich call on meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee 2015-08-26T07:15:15Z Comment by Zetich i like it 2015-08-26T07:12:18Z Comment by Nate Glyn i appreciate this so much but how do 2015-08-26T05:16:35Z Comment by DackJaniels sounds great G- hardware game on point!! 2015-08-26T05:02:01Z Comment by ndy goin in 2015-08-26T04:56:35Z Comment by ndy damn so funky 2015-08-26T04:55:07Z Comment by The Frim you all would appreciate this way more if you had been listening to the Roule back catalogue for the past few days like I have lel 2015-08-26T03:36:11Z Comment by AJ Hofstede this needs to be remastered ugh 2015-08-26T02:40:30Z Comment by ⛧ worm ⛧ JAM ALERT 2015-08-26T02:35:15Z Comment by Cyan Rooper I read well?
