Your Reality, except it's Final Boss music for an obscure RPGmaker game by Throwawayaccountjuan published on 2022-03-01T15:03:29Z If you want to download a version without the intro, look no further: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1imH8xRnHX43bXl3hxztEVAv01iISxbqI/view?usp=sharing First thing's first: a big thank-you to @nezerakthewarlock for helping me along with this song by giving feedback! (I'd also like to mourn the loss of @fucking-fool, who also gave some useful feedback but has since been wiped off the face of this platform. RIP.) @englishnarwhal and @toadiedoesalltheworktbh also deserve praise for having helped me out with some work related to this - thank you all for your patience and support! After 6 months of faffing around, I've finally come around to finishing this darn thing! Not like anyone had been holding their breath for it, but you know, it's nice to have it out of my system. To give a bit more context to this track, it was based on a wacky thought experiment I had about "Doki Doki Literature Club!" Namely, I wondered what would happen if the game had the same themes and similar plotting, but was of a different genre. Specifically, I asked "what if DDLC was an RPG-styled thing, like OFF?" And so, in this hypothetical situation, Monika became the final boss, and this music would play in the Literature Club's final confrontation her, where she resolves that the only way to have some one-on-one time with the Player involves killing all of your party members - Player avatar included. Unfortunately, she's not genre-savvy enough - or too blinded by desperation - to realize that killing everyone just results in you getting a Game Over and having the chance to fight her again, and that her actions thus far (nearly driving your party members to suicide or harm, repeatedly trying to insert herself into your party and failing, orchestrating enemy encounters to try and eliminate your other party members, etc.) have done nothing to endear the Player to her. This song plays in her most frantic (and devastating) attempt to get her way, one last time, rending the game's fabric as she does. For anyone curious, this song's actual name is "Unseeing Autarch," but I feel like it makes more sense to use the title to explain the premise in this case. Otherwise, you're just left with a spooky song accompanied by a spooky drawing and are left scratching your head. (And, seeing as people on Mobile can't read descriptions - and most people choose not to read descriptions anyhow - it's probably the smartest way to explain things.) Comment by tahutoa I like how there's a very distinct foreground and background but a non-distinct middle ground. Really conveys a sense of distance. 2023-04-24T15:59:48Z Comment by D&D tart :3 OFFPOSTING??? 2022-03-16T22:01:31Z Comment by pantsmode bangers 2022-03-12T22:46:02Z Comment by eoeoeoeo This mashup sounds very skilled to me 2022-03-12T19:08:03Z Comment by Ophiuchus This part reminds me of “all that glitters” 2022-03-12T19:02:23Z Comment by Slick Silver I love this art 2022-03-12T18:52:07Z Comment by L-Legomaster (Old Account) It's too late. It doesn't matter what you do. It doesn't matter what you do not do. You will fail And Monika will be there. In your ITEMS. In your ATTACKs. In every movement you make. Monika is there. In every word you speak or leave unspoken. Monika In every breath. Monika In every stroke of fate's pen. Just Monkia 2022-03-12T17:46:39Z
