Tiaday Ball is a dynamic singer-songwriter whose vocal and musical range defies classification, ambient on some tracks, aggressive and empowering on others. As a soloist, she blends a distinctly clear and pristine sound with smooth instrumentation—stretching the realms of pop, hip hop, and R&B. Her debut single Favors fuses rhythmic with melodious and almost atmospheric patterns layered with sophisticated lyrics.
Concurrent to her music career, Tiaday pursued her passion of music at the Los Angeles College of Music in Pasadena. Shortly after, she shared the stage with members of The World Over, a breakthrough genre-blending band, for which she has been recognized by Alternative Press as one of their Top 100 Female Vocalists of 2017. As part of The World Over, she released three EPs including Rampart District (2014), Mountains with Siegfried Meir (2016), and Ventifact (2017). In 2016, the band also joined Otep’s Resistence tour.
Tiaday’s songwriting influences have spanned Catfish & The Bottlemen for their raw emotions and honesty to Post Malone and Now, Now. While growing up in picturesque Waimea, Hawai'i, she always found the ability to wander someplace remote to evoke creative inspiration. Today she’s known to jot ideas down quickly while adhering to tight production schedules, tuning into rising charts to get her head in the game.
A fifth generation singer-songwriter, Tiaday was immersed in music from a young age, gleaning insight from not only her great-grandfather (co-founder of ASCAP), but also her grandfather (founder of Ernie Ball guitars, Slinky guitar strings, and Music Man) and her father, Sherwood Ball, who’s toured with the likes of Bonnie Raitt and Eddie Van Halen. When asked about the best creative advice she was given, she’ll tell you: “Whatever you do in life, do it 110%” from her grandfather.
