I was asked to compose a piece that sounds “Gershwin-esque” and 1924 was the result. As you can hear, it is also an exercise in traditional orchestration and, although it is realized by sampled instruments, all of the parts could be played by real players if the budget allowed. “1924” was also used by Linda Diamond and Company back in 2010 for the choreographed piece entitled “Cuisine Flambe”.
