Tony Maione was truly musically born at the end of the 70's after a steady diet of Pop and Rock music fuelled his early years. He discovered the nature of the DJ and Dance Music in 1979 in a little club where Dance Music of the time was regularly pumping through the house sound system. He was fascinated to feel this kind of music and sought out to experience DJs mixing 2 songs together. So much so that he started on his way to becoming a DJ. Within 2 years Tony was playing records in the small club outside Naples and soon after worked his way into the most important club in Naples. Over the past 35 years, his DJ career has enabled him to play at many venues throughout Europe including clubs and events in Greece, Germany, Italy and Uk . Legendary artists such as Earth Wind and Fire and Kool & The Gang influenced the growth and sense of direction within Tony's record collection. Today his collection includes more than 80.000 records and features the best in Acid Jazz, Funk, R&B, Hip Hop ,Fusion, Jazz, New Age, Chillout LP’s, Dance Classic , Deep House , Garage and Soulful House in 12’’. In 1988 Tony had a great opportunity come his way and went to work with one of the best Italian Label/Distributor: Flying Records , After establishing himself as an effective nightclub DJ, Tony began to appear on Italian radio and also became involved in music production. It was during 1996 when his first production " No Time" with vocals by Matt Wood, was completed with New York music label Groovin Records. He then teamed up and developed original productions and remixes for Catch the Vinyl (New York), Dino & Terry, Paul Simpson, Michael Proctor and Irma Records. Continuing in his role as a music industry professional, Tony worked for Flying Records/UMM (Italy) from 1988 to 1993 as an Sales Manager. In 1998 Tony established their own label Catch the Vinyl. labels for licensing and record pool involvement. At present, Thru their Alias, Connected Funk, Tony strive to produce high quality house and Soulful music for distribution thru Catch the Vinyl, which is positioned as a American Record label with it's primary recording studio located in Naples Italy.
