It's Not The Fall That Kills You, It's The Humiliation by TwoMinutesHate published on 2022-04-19T21:04:35Z Lyrics: "I'm gonna fall for you Get my heart broke and bruised If it's the last thing I do I'm gonna fall for you I'm gonna fall for you But I ain't fucking calling you I've got anxiety, dude But I will fall for you Mark my words I'm gonna stumble Fall flat on my face I've got it down to a subtle art I'm gonna fuck up Get put in my place Godspeed, my pounding heart And when I fall for you I'll break my own heart in two It won't be much work for you Just stand back, enjoy the view And when I fall for you My hopes, and dreams, and fantasies are going too I've got it c-c-covered, dude Here goes nothing new It goes like this Yo Here it goes I'm gonna stumble Fall flat on my face I've got it down to a subtle art I'm gonna fuck up Get put in my place Godspeed, my pounding heart I'm gonna slip up Crash down with the waves I've got it down to a not-so-subtle art I'm gonna fuck up She'll put me in my place God save my pounding heart It's not the fall It's not the fall that kills you Never really had a chance Stood by swinging sweaty hands She'd never understand it It's not the fall It's not the fall that kills you But if I took a tiny chance She might just let me hold her hand I hope I stick the landing I'm gonna stumble Fall flat on my face I've got it down to a subtle art I'm gonna fuck up Get put in my place Godspeed, my pounding heart I'm gonna slip up And that's all that it takes I've got it down to a not-so-subtle art I'm gonna fuck up She'll put me in my place God save my pounding heart" About the song: This song is all about that feeling you get right when you’re about to fall for someone; when you haven’t fallen just yet, but you’ve started feeling the butterflies in your stomach and know what’s coming. Sama wrote the lyrics about a skater girl and imagined the whole process of falling for her as something similar to falling flat on your face trying out a new trick on your skateboard. She concluded that the fall in itself isn’t the worst part by far; it’s the sinking feeling as you get back up on your feet, wipe the dirt off of your Dickies and look around to see how many people were watching. An upbeat summer bop about being awkwardly and nervously in love. Released on Fücking North Pole Records (2022) Logo by Max Dahlby Artwork by Øystein H.
