21st Century Melody by Watchglass published on 2023-05-18T10:28:15Z Firstly I have to point you guys to the video because this is at least 50% visual experience. It is here: https://youtu.be/_dO6_wsRROw I want to also explain about this song and us as artists. We have already made, and will continue to make songs in our genre of catchy pop, earthy folk and ethereal mystique. We are comfortable there, but we thought we would try something a little different, a little left field. This is arty and abstract, just for fun... but it was also kind of serious, inspired after having just finished reading Angela's Ashes. LYRICS It's a 21st Century malady There's nothing really wanting at all Hm Let's try not to fall Maybe we're poised for lift off Maybe we should find the escapr route Or a launch pad There's nothing wanting at all Agony of nothing wanting Breeding malcontent Breeding the wildest problems No one in their wildest dreams Could have imagined they'd have to solve In the 1940s Just last night I was waiting for a thread I had nothing wanting at all Hungering after The mere-est thread Where are you? Where are you? You could not receive it Could not receive it Where are you now my love I made a gift of a vow Given freely as any vow should But you could not receive it You could not receive it Where are you? Just over the hill In this 21st century Genre arty abstract Comment by Christian Lutz That's a really great music / lyrics / video composition... In these times we need more such moments of inner reflection, I think .. 2023-10-20T10:09:38Z Comment by Donna Dior Such a Unique & Interesting Track ! 2023-10-15T12:32:06Z Comment by SOUND23 Cool…very expressive vocals..!!👍 2023-09-23T20:50:29Z Comment by Magi©ian™ (Making music make a difference) great soundscape 2023-09-20T21:47:49Z Comment by tbone711 Thoughtful and moving to the max:) 2023-07-14T02:07:11Z Comment by jigs trippin gorgeous piece :-) 2023-07-01T16:22:23Z Comment by Mr Cagey I started to listen here then noticed the video link so went for that as suggested. Ended up listening/watching each one. The video is really cool. Split screen slightly off sync, nice touch. To me, has a flash back vibe going on. The guitar tone is fantastic. Lovely spoken words and the singing part of the vocal has a real haunting folk feel. Love the emotion coming from your voice on "Could not receive it". 2023-06-20T13:54:09Z Comment by N.o.b.S. Awesome stuff Gina 👏 2023-05-30T09:01:38Z Comment by GrevusAnjl Having watched the video first, I like the side by side, 'one trailing the other' effect. Gives it a sense of the surreal and dreamlike. Very chill and poetic piece of music, my friends. :) 2023-05-23T15:44:26Z Comment by arterial flow Love what you've created here, meditative and creative 2023-05-23T07:03:37Z Comment by Frank DANA A very interesting production !
