One Hour Before Eleven by Rawnchi published on 2021-11-09T03:24:04Z Lesa Godden and Aren-K, aka IRONSPIRIT, randomly discovered online Warren ‘Pig’ Morgan’s solo piano delivery of his song, One Hour Before Eleven. They were hooked. Both deeply aware of the injustices served upon Ned Kelly, his family and the early Aussie pioneer community, Warren’s tribute to his great-grandfather, Ned Kelly’s defence-lawyer: David Gaunson, hit a nerve – they heard a rousing rock anthem in the making. “Aussie’s really need Ned Kelly’s fighting spirit around now” they echoed. Warren ‘Pig’ Morgan was The Aztecs’ keys-man and Billy Thorpe’s writing partner and is still entertaining around Australia with John Paul Young’s AllStars. Lesa and Aren contacted Warren, saying we gotta rouse Ned’s Spirit and put some fire in our fellow Aussie (and Irishmans‘) bellies. Researching Ned’s story reveals the deep injustice in the persecution of Ned and his family. David Gaunson was a solicitor, politician and, like Warren, an excellent pianist. Gaunson obviously saw through the corruption and defended Ned until he was hung at just 25 years old. His crime: fighting back against injustice. David Gaunson lost his political career. The Irish and Indigenous communities of Northern Victoria lost their champion and benefactor. To kick up some dust, and get some fight-back fire in our bellies play One Hour Before Eleven! Lesa Godden is on guitars, Aren-K on vocals, as IRONSPIRIT. Warren Morgan is on keys, his friend the legendary Jack Thompson is on harmonica and intro, and Nic Lyon on violin. Lesa and Aren’s Rawnchi band members ground the anthem with renown Steve Dixon on drums, bassman Bobbe Thornton and synth-strings by Scott Leslie. Genre Rock
