Empirical I've been listening to, dancing to, and studying electronic music for over 30 years. Once I felt that 'groove' or 'rhythm', once the music in my mind had taken me beyond the norms of "everyday" experience (e.g., the 9-5 social norms & values of a consumerist society), there was no wanting to go back. As well as listening to & producing my own electronic music, I write posts about science and post links to the music I like on the social network Mastodon Click on or Copy & paste the following address into a browser to visit my Mastodon profile page https://mastodon.social/@ScienceCommunicator It's easy to join a Mastodon server and get your own address. For example, mine is ScienceCommunicator@mastodon.social This address works similar to an email. So, no matter where you are on the Fediverse, you can contact people, send video and music, for example, if you follow other peoples address. This is the opposite of corporately owned social networks such as Twitter or Facebook. If you have a profile on Twitter ("X"), you can't use that profile to send music to someone on Facebook, for example. To find out why Mastodon, and more generally the Fediverse, is the evolution of social networking, have a read of the 'Leaving Twitter's Walled Garden' Electronic Frontiers Foundation article https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2022/11/leaving-twitters-walled-garden
