DAVID PAYMER + FRANK DEMARCO + ALL NEW MOVIE REVIEWS (CELLULOID DREAMS THE MOVIE SHOW) 7/15/21 by TIM SIKA (Celluloid Dreams The Movie Show) published on 2021-07-18T14:40:41Z CELLULOID DREAMS 7/15/21 -- THIS WEEK'S SHOW: Fresh old stuff for our 25th Anniversary year! HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH is the film version of the hit Off-Broadway musical created, written by and starring John Cameron Mitchell, who added "director" to his duties for the big screen version. It's just your average gender-queer punk rock-singer-from-East-Berlin-on-tour-in-the-U.S.-with-her-band story, really. In 2001, we sat down with Frank DeMarco, the cinematographer for HEDWIG, discussing the changes between the stage and movie interpretations, the year of pre-production, choosing projects, Kubrick and philosophies on filmmaking, among other things. Lured by its iconic landmark, the venerable Old Mill, a movie crew takes over a small town in Vermont, bringing Hollywood egos, actor difficulties and scandal that disrupts the lives of its citizens. Too bad the Old Mill burned down decades ago! Written and directed by David Mamet, STATE AND MAIN is movie fan entertainment with a stellar ensemble cast that includes David Paymer (MR. SATURDAY NIGHT), who joined us by phone in 2000. Plus: ALL-NEW "Screen Scene" movie reviews (theaters or VOD if not specified) including SUMMERTIME; MAMA WEED; ROADRUNNER; PIG; ALMOST FAMOUS [4K HD][Paramount Home Video]; THE SPONGEBOB MOVIE: SPONGE ON THE RUN [Paramount Home Video]; WRATH OF MAN [Warner Home Entertainment] and SIBERIA [Lionsgate Home Video]. * * * * * * * * This week's featured music: BLACK WIDOW (Music by Lorne Balfa) [Marvel Music/Hollywood Records] Producer: LARRY JAKUBECZ/Film Critic: PETER CANAVESE/Host: TIM SIKA #KSJS (90.5 FM) #RadioSausalito (1610 AM) Genre Entertainment
