Genre Autism Comment by Rachael Ashak-Benson I’m sorry, because I’ve really loved and respected all of the guests interviewed on this channel thus far, but the more I listened to this particular guest... especially in regard to females, I had to wonder if her point of view was stuck in the late 1980’s/early 90’s?? I was really disappointed. Even so, I pushed on. Gave Prof. Frith a full shot and kept listening. It just never improved. It seems she believes all autistic people are “less than.” Or perhaps she has only been exposed to autistic folks of one stripe. She hasn’t met fellow professors who are autistic. Lawyers, doctors, teachers, mothers, shopping clerk cashiers.... It’s as if she doesn’t give autistic people enough credit for being — hard to say as it’s an undercurrent with her — “strong” enough? Intelligent enough? Just - “enough” enough. There are a majority of us that are just that. We BRING IT. Make major changes to the world via our special interests. Despite our challenges. It’s not easy. But we get it done. TY. 2019-07-21T04:27:10Z
