White Star Liners Brighton Sussex based White Star Liners are the non-nautical vehicle (despite recent e-mails from confused school students looking for advice on Titanic homework assignments) for childhood friends Jim Duncan and James Harvey. Channeling a series of personal upheavals, the guys have created a kaleidoscopic twelve-track album: ‘The Years That Slid‘, which is to be released through cool indie Numbskull HQ/Total Creative Freedom on Monday 5th November 2012. At such an early stage in a band’s life, to receive praise from your musical heroes is surely the highest accolade for artists, and after early White Star Liners recordings were given to Jason Lytle from lo-fi kings Grandaddy, the lead singer lent his vocals to album highlight ‘Practicing Goodbyes.’ Jason then invited White Star Liners to open up for Grandaddy on their August 2012 reunion tour. The band’s love for the melodic and fuzzy likes of Eels and Blur shines across a confident and panoramic album, which is preceded by infectious lead single ‘Tent vs. Blizzard‘ on Monday 15th October 2012. What started as a reaction to a series of unfortunate events has produced an album of reassuring and uplifting pop music. • Album, ‘The Years That Slid’ Monday 5th November 2012 • Single, ‘Tent vs. Blizzard’ Monday 15th October 2012 White Star Liners’s tracks Moonraker (Live & Acoustic) by White Star Liners published on 2013-03-12T18:56:27Z Can We Start Again? by White Star Liners published on 2012-08-28T10:52:38Z Moonraker by White Star Liners published on 2012-08-28T10:48:49Z
