Hole in the Road Blues by The Windscale Blues Experiment published on 2024-04-13T09:53:48Z The hole that was loved!! Gone but not forgotten....for many Sheffielders this 'near-brutalist' structure (see picture) remains a fondly-missed refuge and meeting place. Hole int' Road (to use the proper vernacular) was built in 1967 but filled in in 1994 to make way for the new tram system. Officially called Castle Square Roundabout it occupied the site of markets going back to 1296. The site is now a tram stop, with just distant memories of the subterranean meeting place with its benches, shops and even the famous fish tank. Shame indeed! And your musical delivery really helps to bring a deeper emotional aspect to it all. 2024-04-16T14:19:37Z Comment by FuWatt So wonderful! 2024-04-16T14:04:10Z Comment by Wayfarer DG Wonderful nostalgia! But I see and understand it. Unique public spaces are important and we become attached to them because of our memories. 2024-04-14T19:57:41Z Comment by Nadia Selvaggi Reposts Yes!! Love the triplets in the third movement that syncopate the 3/4 on the 4/4 juxtaposed with the bass line that's doing a straight 4/4. Wonderfully flavorful and memorable melodies throughout, too. This is yet another knock out song from you, my friend! 2024-04-14T18:45:19Z Comment by ZITOU ITOU beautiful achievement 2024-04-14T10:45:36Z
