Some Monk Funk by The Windscale Blues Experiment published on 2021-09-26T14:42:58Z What if the Cistercian (latterly Benedictine) community at the 12th century Fountains Abbey had survived the vandalism of the despot Henry VIII....would they have got down to The Brecker Brothers' great classic 'Some Skunk Funk'? Who knows? Those monastic brothers might have made their own more meditative 'monk funk' to echo round the cloisters! This track is my projection into this fantasy.... Instrumentation: soprano sax; flute; tenor recorder; bamboo flutes; Bb clarinet; Eb clarinet; alto sax. Additional: drum loops and synth pads.
