Xanadu - DMC Remix (Edit by David Hiscock) (7.53) by XanaduLover published on 2011-04-26T12:50:40Z The original Steve Anderson mix of Xanadu lasts for 10.5 minutes (including quite a bit of dialogue). The Sydney DJ David Hiscock painstakingly went through and edited out all the dialogue and then I believe they sent the new audio over to the states and re-cut the video ...to go with his new edit. I spent a while listening to both versions when I got it and was very impressed with what David had managed to do. There was just one little piano riff that he missed (at 1'28) which i have put in (wasn't sure if I could get it to fit in but it does lol). Anway, hope you all enjoy it... The musical under performed at the box office and was universally lambasted by film critics of the time. However with a Motion Picture Soundtrack co-written by John Farrar and Jeff Lynne, featuring The Electric Light Orchestra, Fee Waybill & The Tubes, Gene Kelly, Sir Cliff Richard and, of course, Olivia Newton-John. The vinyl soundtrack became one of the highest selling soundtracks of all time globally. The music remains, as always, timeless and some 36 years later is beloved around the globe in many languages. 2016-07-15T13:53:28Z Comment by ELIJAH Many years ago, David Hiscock was a brilliant DJ at The Newtown Hotel in Sydney and he created the genesis of this remix. David was so kind, he shipped it to Channel Nine Darwin in The Northern Territory where I was filling in for a mate on maternity leave. And we played it at The Channel Nine Darwin NT AUSTRALIA Christmas Party 1996. Should've seen the looks on some of the straight journos that crashed the party! What a talent! 2016-07-15T13:35:53Z Comment by GREGORY COLE Awesome! Love it! 2015-10-10T18:52:02Z Comment by joel1959 Great job.
