The SWIMMING BIRD & THE LITTLE FISH by Yasir Waheed 2 published on 2021-06-11T09:11:01Z #WorldOceansDay - AFFAN who’s just 6 yrs , is very keen in writing a story out of his imagination and it so happened that his words are about friendship in the BLUE OCEAN. He tells of a swimming bird and little fish becoming buddies and an encounter with a shark that frightened them to flee together to their homes when it gave a cheeky threat of been eaten . There’s life in AFFAN’S story and moral teaching for us all in his depiction that’s free from intervention. While the world 🌎 celebrates the OCEANS , its theme “life and livelihood” is manifested here . The birds prey on little fish but in the story a gesture of friendship builds and both encounters the top predator that just shies off with an intent that may have not been pursued, or the flee may have given shelter to the tiny fish in its anemone and for the bird above the ocean in its home Artocarpus leaving the shark to disappear possibly to the darkest depth of the ocean which is its abode . An Eco-Friendly moment that leaves a big question to us why can’t we ask “WHERE DID THE FISH COME FROM” when served on a plate or shopping at a fish counter . A question that will raise a lot more questions thus assuring sustainable sourcing of fish and responsibility on part of the sellers . Ask this friendly question to know how friendly the fish was caught and stay friendly to the ocean and environment . I was startled at the end to learn that the swimming bird referred by AFFAN was a penguin 🐧 which is much away from our habitat , yet it consoled me that our world is one and our love to the ocean is common to all . #sustainability #sustainabilitylifestyle #FAO #livelihood #food Genre Storytelling
