According to outgoing Eskom CEO Andre de Ruyter, rolling blackouts will continue nationwide until Wednesday evening, followed by Stage 4 and Stage 3 on the weekend. He updated the country regarding the system challenges that led to the current high levels of load shedding.

Monique Le Roux, a senior researcher at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) with expertise in energy systems, told Radio Islam International that stage 8 load shedding is very likely this year, especially during the winter when electricity demand is high.
