Automation : The Modular Eclipse Mixes by sequelae published on 2024-08-30T13:20:35Z During the recent total eclipse, I did a live remix of the song, "Automation," by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard using only modular gear, and using the stems provided by the band. I incorporated a module that generates rhythms based on the phase of the moon, and another module that generates modulation based on the planets' positions on the horizon, using a built-in GPS. These mixes were created for the Nashville King Gizzard show, and are live remixes of the original eclipse "stems." They were recorded live to MiniDisc, and there are seven MiniDiscs in total. The definitive versions of these songs are only on their respective MiniDiscs, as they consist of two songs at exactly 15 minutes each. This playlist gives a close approximation of those albums.
