The World's Standing Still

"The world's standing still" started off as a poem that I wrote during lockdown. Humanity has reached it's end and nothing can be done to stop the worlds demise. So we throw a party and pretend our dancing will somehow save us. - Jo, Asteroid Lily -

The worlds standing still
It’s not moving at all
It’s a little too late, we’ve just missed the call
I guess we ran out of luck

They/we? Were turning to fast
And it couldn’t keep up
They/we wanted present to pass
And now we’re just stuck
has anybody noticed?

But let’s just keep dancing and grooving
Until we reach the end
And maybe the world will start moving again
At least let us pretend

The worlds standing it’s it just came to a stop
And however I run I’m still stuck in one spot
I don’t know how to do this

And it could be true that nothing is fair
But face it we lost we used more than our share
No way of getting through this

But let’s just keep dancing and grooving
Until we reach the end
And maybe the world will start moving again
At least let us pretend

It’s the end of the line
I guess it’s too late too care
But nobody has noticed…
