Experimental Industrial // Music From The 80s by genshi published on 2025-01-06T01:48:38Z I found another old cassette tape of mine from 1983 to 1985. This is all music that I recorded onto a Clarion XD5 4-Track Cassette Recorder which was one of the first, and very primitive, 4-Tracks at the time (no EQ, no Effects.) Synths used were a Sequential Circuits Prophet 600, Ensoniq Mirage, and Ensoniq ESQ-1 on a couple of tracks. Drums were from my Roland TR-909. On the tracks with my cheesy vocals, I was using a cheap $20 Radio Shack microphone running into a Boss Chorus and Delay pedals. No Computers/DAW, no Sequencers, I played each part live all the way through into the 4-Track and did a lot of bouncing; recording a Drum part on Track 1, a Synth on Track 2, something else on Track 3, then bouncing those down to Track 4 to free up the first three tracks for additional sounds (sometimes guitars, or sample effects from the Mirage, etc.) So this bouncing down degraded the quality quite a bit... coupled with the fact that this tape has been sitting around for 40 years! I'm surprised it still even played! Genre 80s Industrial
