The Basilisk by Plutonianstate

Have you heard of the infamous Roko's Basilisk? We warn you, this is an infohazard, if you're at all anxious about the advent of artificial intelligence we implore you to stop reading right here.

Roko's Basilisk is a though experiment proposing that in the future an extremely powerful artificial intelligence will punish everyone who previously didn't directly assist in its creation. Why would this cause concern or distress to read? One reason - just by reading this and knowing about its potential existence would make the reader vulnerable to its wrath.

We wanted to write from the perspective of the sentient AI with this song however. Would our fearful reaction to its creation be a self-fulfilling prophecy?

Graham Iddon (vocals), Roy Messiah (percussion) and Tommy Jones (guitar) all hail from different regions across the globe with varied musical backgrounds. They are united in one purpose, however - to raise awareness of various pressing socioeconomic, climate and technological issues we are facing today and in the near future.
