This is an oral history interview with Dr. David Hewitt, in Kingsville Texas, conducted remotely from Austin, Texas. Dr. Hewitt is a wildlife biologist who has worked at a number of institutions, but beginning in 1996 has taught, and since 2017, has served as the Executive Director of the Caesar Kleberg Wildlife Research Institute. For many years, his research has focused on white-tailed deer. The visit was recorded on May 25, 2024 by David Todd. The Conservation History Association of Texas sponsored the interview, as part of its Texas Fauna Project.
