San Francisco, CA- The San Francisco Black Film Festival (SFBFF) is traditionally held during June Black Music Month over Juneteenth and Father’s Day Weekend. Hylife-Ocity Productions CEO Michael Burdette will salute SFBFF “Lady Soul Revolution II featuring female powerhouses Netta B.; Ryan Nicole, & Tracy Cruz for one show only 7:30 p.m., Monday, June 12th at Yoshi’s 510 Embarcadero West, Oakland, CA 94607. The event kicks off San Francisco Black Film Festival’s yearlong 25th anniversary celebration.

"As a millennial leader taking on the helm of the San Francisco Black Film Festival from my late father, Kali O’Ray, who lead the organization for a decade after my late grandmother, Ave Montague, founded it with the mission of affirming the African Diaspora worldwide and empowering filmmakers, both established and aspiring, it is a honor to have Michael Burdette’s “Lady Soul Revolution II” salute our work,” said Cree Ray, Executive Director of the San Francisco Black Film Festival. “We continue with our motto “Healing the World One Film at A Time” and we do so with friends like Michael Burdette. We are thankful for friends like Michael.”

Lady Soul Revolution II salutes Black Music Month and The San Francisco Black Film Festival that was founded by a formidable arts impresario, the late Ave Montague. It is now celebrating its 25th year of “Resilience and Empowerment.”

“Music and film are integral art forms and June is Black Music Month, so I thought it was a good idea to reinforce the value of Black music by powerful talented Black women while saluting an institution founded by an empowering Black woman,” said Michael Burdette, CEO, Hylife-Ocity Productions.
