“Say It” is the fifth single from Dutch Canadian electronic music producer apaull’s second album, Homogeny. The 9 track LP was released on 28 February 2025, was executive produced by Abe Duque and is on the furnace room records label. apaull’s original mix is accompanied by a shorter “Radio Edit” mix and a special remix from Ukraine’s Andrey Sirotkin, that was mastered by Robert Babicz.
“Say It” is about is about being able to call out something when it is wrong, without exception. The track was written in response to the massacre at the Nova Music Festival on 7 October 2023 and specifically how this was not acknowledged at some music festivals I attended. (To be crystal clear this geopolitical situation is extremely complex and the phrase “say it’s wrong” should be applied liberally).
Musically, the track is built around a stuttering piano and bass melodies and distorted noise layers. Out of the mist are haunting vocals that intone “Say it’s wrong, say it”.
