Lola Kinks Lola Kinks Philadelphia Lola Kinks is the vinyl selectress/DJ alter ego of L'Oréal Porçeia McCollum--a healing artist, clinical social worker, sexuality educator, and psychotherapist based in Philadelphia. Born in Richmond, VA and raised in Landstuhl, Germany and Atlanta, GA, her enthusiasm for music blossomed during her early years abroad. While there, she initially drew inspiration from the jazz rock, Brit funk, and acid jazz artists that her father introduced into their household: Steely Dan, Level 42, and Brand New Heavies, to name a few. A self-proclaimed music and pop culture nostalgist; she lives for deepening her knowledge in oft-forgotten vintage media history. In alignment with her work as a healing artist, her greatest passion as a music hostess/curator resides in holding space for folks to learn, unite in joyful and spiritual communion, and achieve catharsis through sound and movement.
