Soul Harbor by Soul Harbor published on 2024-04-08T20:44:15Z Soul Harbor is a south Louisiana-based multi-instrumentalist family group consisting of twin brothers — Alan and Evan Chaney — and sister Savannah Frances. They are the adult children of veteran singer-songwriter and church musician Paul Chaney. Two other members, Tom Scott and Rich Frances (Savannah's husband), round out the group's roster. Soul Harbor's music crosses genres, including worship, rock, soul, country, folk, and pop. All the songs on their eponymous inaugural project were written by Paul Chaney using lyrics filed away for years and now given a chance for expression by the young group using fresh, up-to-date styles. The group has been compared to CCM artists like We The Kingdom, Phil Wickham, Bethel Music, and CAIN. The songs are heartfelt and honest, intended to encourage, comfort, challenge, and call believers to a life of complete devotion to God. The group formed organically as a result of growing up in a musical family. Currently, they are part of the worship ministry at Our Savior's Church, a network of churches in south Louisiana. Soul Harbor's name conveys the message that a relationship with Jesus is a safe harbor for the soul—a place where one can find rest and peace.
