Deep Adaptation by Deep Adaptation published on 2019-03-10T10:11:45Z In the light of a new wave of increasingly pessimistic climate science in 2018, Deep Adaptation asks what if it is too late to stop runaway climate change? How should we respond? The main challenge here is that many educated and powerful people are locked into various forms of debt bondage, and/or concepts of selfhood tied to material worth. These people have a hard time seeing outside of the daily grind required to uphold and sustain their lifestyles--either because status anxiety governs their outlook on life, or because they have given that up, and yet are still trapped (perhaps because of interdependent relationships with friends and family). A great listen, and a great read. Lots to chew on, and lots to work through. Thank you. 2019-11-06T22:31:50Z Comment by Stefan Morales Yes! Permaculture and aquaculture for carbon sequestration at scale. What does an undertaking like this look like? I believe that the best models we have for this come from small-scale rural/peri-urban cooperatives (antigonish movement), and regional polycentric governance systems (regional districts). Anyone curious about what I mean, I encourage to please reach out, as I will be looking for collaborators to help strategically position proposals to develop fail and scale fast pilots (first in the Pacific Northwest where I reside, but others could pick up this work elsewhere). 2019-10-31T05:37:33Z Comment by Arup Kr. Chattopadhyay I find a real flaw in your explanation, that you cinsider humanity out of the Earth-system eco-system. where is the realities are : humanity is very much within Earth-System Eco-system. 2019-06-04T18:25:56Z Comment by Arup Kr. Chattopadhyay During early 2019 only, I've cobcluded the same as established in deep adaptation through tgorough study of different literatures available on network and datas available in public domain from many global watch-dogs like WMO, NOAA, GFDL, LULUCA etc. 2019-06-04T18:03:21Z Comment by Arup Kr. Chattopadhyay BAU (Busiess as usual) mindset of present Ownership modules running all over world may narrate this paper as a hatred. Thank you! 2019-03-24T17:29:11Z Comment by RespectSilence All the more reason to stop ruining the countryside & oceans with massive wind "farms" in a futile effort to stop AGW. We could at least not create a dual Hell on Earth, combining a derailed climate with ugly machines around every bend, like War Of The Worlds. Blight for naught is a big mistake. 2019-03-22T06:25:15Z
