Our second guest today is Sandra Nieto, author of "Special Kids—Chosen Moms: A Mother's Guide to Raising Her Special Needs Child." Did you know that every 4 1/2 minutes, a baby is born with a birth defect in the United States? Birth defects affect 1 in every 33 babies born in the US each year, translating to about 120,000 babies, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Sandra Nieto will share her story of how her son, Clay, contracted group B strep on the third day of his life and became part of that statistic. She says, “My beautiful child, Clay, was blind, had cerebral palsy, was fed via a G-tube with a twenty-four-hour feeding pump, and took as many as thirty-two medications a day.”
Our third guest is James Amorosi, founder, CEO, and Managing Partner of The Legacy Fund. Today, he will discuss his life, the Legacy Fund, and the mission behind it. Mr. Amorosi has 35 years of experience in the private equity and hedge funds industry. He has been CEO of AMO Investment, a private equity and venture capital firm, since 2001. His career includes working at the largest privately held broker-dealer in commodities, currencies, and debt instruments as a foreign exchange trader and primary market maker in the vanilla inter-bank and broker market G-7 currency pairs. He has also held positions at prestigious hedge funds like Tudor Investments and Rand Management as a managing director, senior trader, and quantitative systems developer.
