TECHNOMENON - EPISODE 1 by JANE DECKS

Introducing TECHNOMENON: A new monthly mix series produced by yours truly, (Jane Decks, a queer woman), that will amplify the sound of techno producers who identify as female, non-binary, trans or gender-queer from around the globe. Each episode will blend a curated selection of both new and classic tracks, either remixed or produced by people who do not identify as cis-men, that showcase the diverse talent within the scene.

While searching for music online as a new DJ, I noticed that my algorithm contained a lack in gender diversity of the music producers. I think that the only way to change this reality is by intentionally shifting how I search for music and by being conscious about who I listen to. I hope this series will inspire others to do the same. Join me in my chaotic, techno-sub-genre-fluid search to make my music library a more inclusive space.

This month’s theme is Light & Dark: Dive into raw, driving dark techno, punctuated by moments of uplifting dance music for a breath of fresh air. Prepare for a sonic exploration that balances intensity with euphoria.
