By dissecting these diverse examples, this session explores the shifting identity and direction of globalisation in the 21st century. Participants will gain insights into the complex interplay of economic, technological, environmental, and social forces shaping our interconnected world, paving the way for informed discourse and future research in the field of global studies. The session highlights recent research from three recent book publications, i.e., Umair Ghori, ‘Export Restrictions and Export Controls: From WTO to the Realm of Global Security (2023, Edward Elgar)’ and Umair Ghori, Mary Hiscock, Louise Parsons & Casey Watters (Eds), ‘Globalisation in Transition: Human and Economic Perspectives’, (2023, Springer Nature).
