It's Not A Phase - pt.2 by Eleanor Anderson Sound published on 2023-03-27T23:40:20Z This is a piece that creates half of my 2 part sound installation that has recently been exhibited in Gallery 46 - White Chapel (see my page for pt.1 of this duo sound art). 'It’s Not A Phase' is a project that focuses on the importance of identity through the teenage years and how music helps achieve this. Centred around the trials and tribulations we go through as a teenager, the piece spotlights the escapism music provides us. No matter your age, race, gender or sexuality music becomes our identity while the brain and body develop from childhood to adulthood. The piece creates an immersive sense of community and mirrors the reality of the stiff juvenile years that everyone faces while highlighting the crucial part music plays in escaping this. “Music is the literature of the heart it commences where speech ends” - Alphonse De Lamartine.
