Thuta of BRB
Dated to the start of his music career, he started to have interest in music esp hip-hop from 2013-2014. In 2015, He formed a group called “Bring the Rap Back” with his two friends, AYZ and Yote Soe.
The beginning of his music career journey was quite a rough path as releasing a complete mixtape is too much of a cost for teenagers. That’s when he started to explore more of the beat making department with a purpose of using it in their debut mixtape. He uses a self-learning method and as he is doing it, the interest in music production has grown. After all this time, the mixtape called “Holiday” by BRB was released in 2016 produced by Thuta of BRB. At that time, the name 99 has not formed yet as he is working solely with the Group. Later in the year, the group kind of disbanded as one group member quit and BRB then again released a mixtape called unexpected in 2017 also produced by him.
Becoming 99 Symphony
After 2 mixtapes were produced, there were a few rappers in the industry who were interested in collaborating with him in terms of beat making parts in their songs. This would be the start of a name of 99 Symphony formed to be a professional music producer.
The first ever album released under the name of 99 Symphony would be “Killing Gang” in 2019 and is with Nay Thit Nyein from Trippy Ape$. That album would kinda be somewhat different from previous mixtapes of 99 with BRB as it has become one of the earliest Trap albums in Myanmar which is a new culture at that time. Due to that, there were also disagreements and heated conflicts between most of the other artists in industry on this album in terms of authenticity. Later in 2019, “UP” album by Kyaw Htet San is also released with 99 symphony as Executive Producer.
MOLOTOV COCKTAIL
In 2019, he collaborated with a few rappers from Yangon and Mandalay to host a project called MOLOTOV COCKTAIL. The name is inspired from an act of rebellion and stays true to one’s belief.
The purpose of this activity is for anyone to rap their verse freely on social media using one specific beat that has been uploaded onto social media.
Participating rappers in the original version are Nay Thit Nyein, P Flo, Snapper, B Boi, Frez, Hein Htet Zaw, BIGG & Kyaw Htet San.
After the original version was released, it has become viral on social media as many underground rappers have participated in it. A few days later, it was blown up to the whole Myanmar rappers community. It has become famous to a point that some big artists like Bigg Y, G-Tone, Kyaw Htut Swe, Zwe Thet Paing also upload their verse on the internet.
