Freya Halvorsen Freya Halvorsen Liverpool Freya Halvorsen is an English singer/songwriter, born in Liverpool. She taught herself to play guitar at age 11 inspired by The Beatles and Elvis. She had a copy of The Complete Beatles songbook from which she taught herself to play along with the vinyl albums she adored. She joined bands whilst still at school progressing to songwriting and other instruments including ukulele, bass guitar and harmonica. In 2008 she won the Linda McCartney Centre Songwriting competition held at The Cavern, Mathew Street Liverpool. Since then she has been a member of the all female band Midnight Daisies. Since they two other original members retired, Midnight Daisies has gone on with the addition of Pat Mack and Gary McInness. Freya is also a member of 60's Mod Rock band The Connection. They play venues all over the North West. Vinyl Tears is her first solo EP, all songs written, performed and produced by Freya.
