JuJu Muzik presents its first "various artist" EP, 'Friendly Interactions' Vol.1 ... Four killer tracks of deeply underground House, Techno & Electro, referencing the classic sounds of the Motor City and Chicago, but with four geographically-diverse artists each bringing their unique perspective. 'Friendly Interactions' Vol.1 builds bridges across the seas, bringing together some of the finest talent House and Techno has to offer, for an EP that reaches deep into the heart & soul of The Machine.
Starting with the hugely influential, Adham Zahran (AKA Relic & Rarity), who is based in Alexandria, Egypt. Adham has been releasing music since 2010 and has a string of releases under his belt on labels including 'Feedasoul', 'Dobro', 'Galaktika' and more. He is mainly a producer and live-set performer who likes to incorporate warm Jazzy chords, Ethereal pads and loose House beats - "Concrete Advice" combines all these elements perfectly, with the added bonus of a phat, squelching and ever-evolving Acid line weaving in and out throughout.
Wave Effect, the London-based DJ and producer Carl Grant, has made significant contributions as the other half of renowned producers L.A. Synthesis, solidifying his reputation as a standout artist from the UK. Born in Birmingham, Wave Effect has been crafting exceptional House and Techno compositions since the early 1990s, along with Tony Gallagher of L.A. Synthesis. His music flawlessly blends the UK's ingenuity with the raw energy of Detroit, establishing him as a trailblazer for British artists on a global scale. While his solo releases have been limited, they bear the unmistakable imprint of a sound that resonates deeply with the essence of Detroit. Wave Effect's unique ability to conjure music and rhythms evocative of the Motor City has garnered attention and paved the way for British artists to gain recognition worldwide.
We then pop-over to France for the outstanding Dijon born and raised, Trecci. A DJ, electronic music producer and Naeba Records label manager, Trecci is consistently in the studio working on his next release, with an impressive array of quality releases on labels including 'Soiree Records' (Detroit), 'N.C.M.' (Detroit), 'UKR' (Special Series) and countless others. "Face Of The Dragon" opens with no-nonsense 90's organ stabs which drive the whole track along, combined with emotive strings, as a classic Deep House groove takes control underpinned with grinding bass, and punctuated with fluctuating synth lines.
Lastly on the EP, we take a visit to South Holland (Lincolnshire, UK, South Holland that is, NOT The Netherlands!) where Jeran Portis takes us on a deep late-night journey with track entitled 'Growth'. Jeran has been building (and growing) for the last ten years, firstly starting out as 'Dangerous Liaisons' and setting up his own label, 'Machine Mind Records' in 2015, where he released some of his own material and released "Julian G's" first ever digital release; 'Picture This' / 'Attention Now' in 2015 ... Jeran and Julian also collaborated on 'Horizons Dub' which was featured on the 'Sound and Vibrations' LP (Machine Mind Records). Jeran has also been a member of Motech Records (Detroit) since 2017, with featured tracks on the 'Consortium' compilation series and his own four track EP called 'Resilient', plus an exclusive track on Fabric's mix compilation series, selected by TSHA in 2022
