AROKX [NZ]

Arokx is an Auckland-based DJ and producer whose passion, talent and love for minimal and techno have seen him play stages and release music across the globe.

His childhood saw him exposed to an array of music, predominantly the gritty sounds of metal and the melancholy harmonies of blues, elements of which can be heard in his music today. As an early teen, his friends were all lovers of rap music, but the sounds of deep, hypnotic, minimal techno were calling him from the subterranean of another space.

After a wild set at Shipwrecked that went down in history as 'Arokx the Boat’, he caught the eyes and ears of international promoters with his dedication, raw talent and original production work. He laid down a legendary closing set for HNQO (HOT CREATIONS) which launched him into the overseas club and festival circuit, seeing him play alongside many of the world's top headline acts.

From more recent sets at Australia’s legendary Rainbow Serpent, Melbourne’s Killing Time and Breakfast club, to a residency at Shipwrecked and regular slots at an array of other New Zealand festivals and club nights. He has cemented his place in Aotearoa’s underground house and techno scene. There’s no doubt about it, Arokx has a pedigree, and an ear for killer sound.

Playing his own productions alongside carefully curated sound from other artists, he is known for delivering cleverly constructed and well thought out sets. He has upcoming releases on multiple international labels, and has hit the Beatport top 10 charts, recently getting his tracks to number 4 on the minimal chart and number 6 for techno/peak driving.

With ultimate respect for music, a love of collecting, creating and collaborating, Arokx creates a unique journey into sound & vibration for every dance floor. This is one act that will keep you engaged until the very end.
