VEIL by UNCIA published on 2024-10-03T08:54:14Z Paris, France – January 2025 Rising electronic producer UNCIA, an LGBTQ+ artist who fled their home country to escape persecution, has released a bold new album from their base in Paris. They were able to migrate to the city with the help of the Agency of artists in exile, which offered crucial support and a safe space to create. Known for blending deconstructed club sounds with cinematic intensity, UNCIA’s latest work reimagines the myth of Medusa as a story of injustice and resilience. “This album sees Medusa not as a monster, but as a woman unfairly punished,” UNCIA explains. “It’s about power, control, and those left powerless to resist.” Building on the foundations of their debut, "Rebel", the album pushes deeper into intimate and dramatic territory, blending modular-inspired compositions with the raw energy of deconstructed club beats, evoking comparisons to artists like Caterina Barbieri. The release also features two exclusive remixes: one from French producer Griig and another from Funkshn, UNCIA’s longtime collaborator and labelmate. Both reinterpret UNCIA’s sound with unique and compelling perspectives, expanding the album’s emotional and sonic palette.
